Sabrina Reed Gerontological Nursing Award

In September 2005, Sabrina Reed was killed by her husband in a domestic violence dispute. She was a BSN RN
Graduate (2002) and an MSN gerontological nursing graduate (2005) at Radford University. I had the privilege of teaching
this very humble and beautiful woman. Sabrina was a dialysis nurse at the VA Medical Center in Salem.

Plans are underway to award a BS RN undergraduate and graduate $50.00 award and certificate to graduating RU students
who have demonstrated excellence in gerontological nursing. A fund at BRC must be set up for this.
